Winged bulls.

ORIGINS: The reason we chose that saying was because the word for earlock, ALADARES, caught our fancy. And we couldn’t part with it so soon. So, we divided it in two, and that is how we got a winged bull.

They said that I was too clumsy. That they would never trust me with their porcelain dolls, because I was a clumsy bull. I thought that if I sprouted wings, graceful, delicate wings, maybe they would see that I meant no harm. That my touch would be feather-soft. But they pointed at the sky. And told me to take wing. To that empty sky, where I wouldn’t bother anyone else, and if I wanted dolls, I could make them out of clouds.

When I was on the ground, others judged me by how I looked. They saw a bull, and that meant that I had to be clumsy. I thought that if I sprouted wings, I would be able to leave all that nonsense behind. That I would find freedom in the sky. But then I saw a valkyrie, someone wearing the same horns and the same wings as me. She came down from the sky. To choose. To judge. Who was worthy and who was not. And that was the day something broke inside me.

Someone told me that angels were guardians. That they were fierce warriors, fighting for what was right. I already have horns, I already know how to stand my ground, I am a bull after all. The only thing I am missing is a pair of wings. But once I find it, I will be the best angel of all.

I want to fly. Nothing else matters. Everyone knows that happiness is the most important thing in this life. And I will be happy, I will fly, even if I have to make a deal with a bird. Even if I have to lend a bird space inside my brain, in exchange for the use of its wings.
