BALLOONS 2019-09-08 / ILLUSTRATIONS BY THE HALF DOZEN / balloon, dream, hope, life, loneliness, reality / By CorchoGrendel Some children hold onto their balloons until they deflate. Others release their balloons into space. In these illustrations each balloon is a word. DEPENDENCE: I let go of these balloons. Because I don't want to spend my whole life at the mercy of others. LONELINESS: I hold onto this balloon. Because I am alone, but that was never my heart's desire. DREAM: I let go of this balloon. Because I want to be able to dream something different again and again. LIFE: I hold onto this balloon. Because not everything can be dreams and I have to live some things too. HOPE: I hold onto one balloon and I let go of the other. Because no matter how hard I try, I cannot fully surrender to my hopes. REALITY: I hold onto this balloon. Because I have no other choice.
